The Austin Independent School District wants to determine the level of interest for a boys-only school.
The proposed school would serve grades six through 12, much like the Ann Richards School for Young Women Leaders that opens this fall. It would serve as college prep school, and focus on teaching techniques that have seen some success in groups of only boys.
AISD hopes for plans for the Young Men's Leadership Academy to be presented to the Board of Trustees by fall 2007.
